David Lynch's Monologue is Part of New Song

Although there are many artists, musicians, writers, and performers inspired by David Lynch, few have shown quite so much Lynchian style in their work as Steven Ellison, whose experimental music concepts go under his band umbrella "Flying Lotus," also occasionally shortened as the nickname "FlyLo." In his most recent album, Flamagra, he gets David Lynch to share a monologue he once heard the director recount at a party, but for the song "Fire is Coming."

Jake has fun with this essay, examining some of the absurd humor that Lynch favors using in his film style. To a degree, Jake is making more of a humorous profile on the master director, who somehow manages to extract exquisite performances from his actors, in spite of the very eccentric ways he sometimes uses to get there.

Wild at Heart (1990) New Official U.S. Collector's Edition Blu-Ray!

Probably the David Lynch film that benefits the most from a big, beautiful screen presentation, this upcoming May 22, 2018, Wild at Heart (1990) will finally receive a solid and official U.S. Blu-Ray release as a Shout Select title. The video apparently comes straight from the HD master approved by David Lynch originally for his Lime Green DVD Set, but this time presented in its full HD resolution.

The Weirdo Marketing of the Movie DUNE (1984)

An excellent analysis of one of the most bizarre film-marketing campaigns of all time. Potentially, the MOST bizarre. Dino De Laurentis and MCA/Universal handed the keys to this blockbuster to the artistic powerhouse director David Lynch and he adapted Frank Herbert's best-selling novel into the gorgeous and original DUNE (1984).
